Song Premiere: Escape from the world with Chris Daily and 2xS’s “Turn Off Your Mind”

“Turn Off Your Mind” theatrically weaves through industrial grooves and fascinating melodies. One moment, you’re floating through airy synthesizer soundscapes. The next, you’re bouncing on a banjo refrain. Like its name suggests, this track is best absorbed when you shut off the outside world and follow its winding road. 

The track is a collaboration between composers and vocalists Chris Daily, Carolyn Melendez, and Corbin Young. It features audio from various released and unreleased 2xS songs including "Glitches”, “Instant Gratification," and "Living in an Echo."

This impressive piece spans seven minutes, and it feels more like an overture than a song. Which makes sense, considering it’s part of Young’s Double-Slit Experiment, a hypnotic musical that examines digital society and its effects on everyone around it. The musical stars Corbin Young and Jenna Trust, and features vocalist Carolyn Melendez, multi-instrumentalist Chris Daily, and drummer Jordan Goldman.
